Project 4 (2023)

Hospital wing in Ghana

Just as our third project, this one was arranged for us by the helping people: https://www.the-helping-people.com/en/. Thanks to them we found our local partner. This is the Home for Hope Foundation: https://home-for-hope.de/. With them we realize both, the hospital wing in Ghana.

Building of a hospital wing

We are building the wing in Gomoa Tarkwa , a small village in the south of Ghana, about two hours from the capital Accra. The hospital wing will be completely built and equipped with the necessary (medical) equipment, material and furniture. In addition, a nurse will work part-time and take care of the students. All this will be financed by the Charity Circle. The construction and subsequent operation of the infirmary at the Home for Hope Preparatory School will ensure health care and disease prevention (e.g. against malaria) for 275 students.

By providing protected rooms, important equipment (beds, medical material, cabinets etc.) as well as care by trained staff (nurse) the students experience rest and recuperation. By providing medical information materials, events and lectures and by imparting knowledge about diseases and their prevention to students and their families, sustainable precautions are taken. Another important goal is the prevention of malaria.  This is achieved by providing shelters for sick children in the form of their own beds, mosquito nets and lockers. This helps them to rest better and recover more quickly. At the same time, the risk of infection for other students is reduced.

The total cost of this project is EUR 30’000.
