Our story…
We are a group of long-standing friends who have been close for many years. The Charity Circle was founded in 2015 by Wanja, Shiraz and Thommy and has grown steadily ever since. In the years that followed, more friends joined us to support and develop the idea further.
Our commitment…
Each of us commits to donating at least €2,500 annually, as well as generating additional donations through our network. Furthermore, we regularly visit the projects we support in person – at our own expense. In this way, we ensure that our aid reaches where it is needed and see first-hand the impact it has.
Our motivation…
We are united by the realisation that we have been very fortunate in our lives – through opportunities, a stable environment, and family and friends we can rely on. At the same time, we know that this is not something to be taken for granted. Many people live in conditions characterised by uncertainty, worry and existential challenges.
That is why we founded the Charity Circle: to take responsibility together and take concrete action. Within our network, we pool our commitment and financial resources to provide targeted support for and implement selected projects. In doing so, we aim to share a little of our own happiness, for, as Albert Schweitzer said, “Happiness is the only thing that doubles when you share it.”
